• Welcome to the Meiyo - Nottingham - Karate Club website. The term `Meiyo` (pronounced `Meh-yo`) means `Honour` or `Honourable` depending on how it is used in the Japanese language. The club is affiliated to the JKR-UK. We study Shindo Jinen Ryu under the guidance of Sensei Simon Oliver 7th Dan. Sensei Oliver assesses all of our Kyu grade students. All of our Dan grade candidates are assessed by Sensei Yamazaki. All our instructors are DBS checked and all have First Aid qualifications. Our Instructors are recognised by both National and International Governing bodies. We teach at Bulwell Academy. You can gain entrance via Squires Avenue (opposite the KFC roundabout). Please press the buzzer on the car park security gates to gain acces - if you`re on foot, please walk up further to the student entrance security gate and press the buzzer there.
