ADD NEW SPORTS CLUB

Birmingham Backgammon Club (Moseley, Birmingham, West Midlands, B13 9EA) -- The club meets at 7.00pm for a 7.30 prompt start, each Monday of the year apart from Bank Holidays. Players of all skill levels are welcome, including beginners. There will always be an experienced member who will be pleased to explain the game and start you off. It has been said that the basic rules of Backgammon can be taught in a few minutes - but to master the finer points can take a lifetime! On a typical evening we expect between eight and fifteen members. We run a series of eight player knockouts throughout the evening. The winners score points which count towards the Club Championship. The knockouts are completely free to enter, although there is alwaays an optional £1 side-pool if some members wish to play for a small prize. We generally finish around 10.30pm - although some fanatics play on ... and on ... There is a common misconception that Backgammon is always played for high stakes. This is untrue. At our club it is quite acceptable to play purely for the fun of the game. If you have a board please bring it along - but don`t worry if you haven`t. See you there!
