Dicot Old School Karate Jutsu - Koryu Uchinadi (Ladygrove, Didcot, Oxfordshire, OX11 1RF) --
We Offer A Complete Martial Art For Self-Defence And Personal Growth At Didcot KU we offer a complete system for self-defence. We teach an ancient form of Karate but use modern methodolgy. You will learn to respond to all types of violence and will learn techniques that work for you. How do we differ from other karate schools? We teach self defence, at realistic distances, with realistic attack patterns. We are NOT a sport. Unlike most "traditional Karate" we are a complete martial art and thus offer the four main pillars of a complete fighting system: Striking Kicking Grapling and Throwing Siezing and controling through locking and pressure points We teach Old Shool Pre-War Karate Not the modern version. Our sytem is based on the drills and principles of Koryu Uchinadi, which have been categorized and sytemized by world recognised karate expert Hanshi Patrick McCarthy 9th Dan.

Didcot Judo and Karate Club (Didcot, Oxfordshire, OX11 8TP) --
The Aim of Kyushindo is to train safely and enjoyably, so that anyone from 8 to 80+ can progress with little risk of constant injuries. Kyushindo covers both Judo and Karate, which are taught to different degrees in different clubs. Kyushindo Judo uses natural, circular movements instead of forcing and lifting to achieve the throws. The words JU and DO in japanese, literally mean `gentle way`. Kyushindo Karate relies on speed and accuracy; and again emphasises the use of natural movement and good posture for blocking and striking. Kyushindo is taught as a martial art, not a sport, so it will not win you lots of trophies. Instead, you will learn some self defence, while improving your physical fitness and self-confidence - and hopefully enjoying yourself.
